Effective July 6, 2009, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) issued an interim rule amending the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) regulations with the intention to:
· end confusion by removing certain obsolete references to the Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS);
· help the public determine the correct place to file USCIS forms; and
· create a more efficient and streamlined process for any future changes to filing processes.

Hi,
Is it true that the old (i.e., July 1st - July 29th) filing fees still apply through July 27th - August 17th? The new fees (which would have been applicable from July 30th) will now be applicable from August 18th, right?
Is this true for I-485, I-765 and I-131 forms?

Hey guys,
No, you cannot draw anything in Swift3D besides the simple polygons such as spheres, cones, etc. What you can do is create complex 3D shapes and import it into Swift 3D. Swif3D is used primarily for 3D Animation instead of 3D creation.

General Motors emerged from bankruptcy today and promises it is the beginning of a new age for America's leading car manufacturer. This is really major and thanks to reader gg for posting the link. The headlines are likely to be about the benefits to people out of status. The provisions stated early in the memocould benefit thousands, though I'm not sure it will help the vast majority of people out of status, though many, many would be helped. I am an American citizen. My Chinese wife of 3 years and I will move to St. Louis and buy a home there. She is a businesswoman and must return to China several times per year to take care of a business there. She will be applying for her immigrant visa very soon.
HOW MANY DAYS PER YEAR CAN SHE LEAVE THE US PER YEAR WITHOUT PUTTING HER IMMIGRANT VISA IN JEOPARDY?
Being a US resident is more important that the job, but we would like to do both, if possible.
I apprecite ANY advice formn knowledgeable people, including non-lawyers.

If your 'temp stay' implies staying in a hotel and flying to Chicago on the weekend then no. If it means that you have leased an apartment and plan to stay in NY for a few months then sure go ahead and fill it out.

Hello,
Just wanted to update everybody on this. We went for renewal this morning. Took EAD, Passports and Original 485 receipts with us. When we showed our EADs the lady asked her sup, that these guys have EADs do they need anything else. Sup said with EADs nothing is needed. No Passports, No 485 receipts not even Employer letter. They renewed licenses till validity of EAD. We had 2 year EAD. So we are all set till mid of next year.

I just realized a stupid mistake was made after filing my COS from F1 to H1B. My employer sent the entire application this Monday to Vermont Premium Processing Center. I had no idea that the I-539 was not even needed and that I-129 and I-907 were sufficient enough to proceed with the COS. Anyway, is there a way to correct this error? I'm just hoping USCIS won't reject my application and just process my COS.
I included a separate check worth $300 to pay for the I-539 but the rest of the payments were issued by my sponsoring employer. I really thought I-539 was one of the requirements so I went ahead and included it.
Any input will be appreciated.

I have a offer from an employer and they say that they will be able to provide documentation for GC processing but will not be able to sponsor. What does that mean? Can i hire attorney for my GC processing(EB2) and pay the expenses by myself? What else would be required from the employer?
